Is Ignite app available for free?
Ignite is available for free on the Apple App Store. The free version lets you add your own workouts, log the results. To get the most out of Ignite we recommend getting the all the In App Purchase extras. Ignite offers the following three In App Purchase extras:
- 1) Unlimited workout creation & rename/edit workout
- 2) Resting timer & notification sounds
- 3) Workout history
You can get these extras separately or you can get of all them together for $3.99 (that’s a $2,98 bundle discount!)
Are my workout results backed up?
Ignite uses iCloud to back up your workouts and your logged results. Please note that all of your workouts and your logged results are tied to the iCloud account you’re currently logged into with in your iPhone’s Settings. Please not that when you sign in to another device using the same iCloud credentials it might take some time for Apple iCloud to sync your data.
Is Ignite available for Android?
At the moment we don’t have any immediate plans to make a version of Ignite for Android devices. If you would be interested in an Android version, we’d love to hear about it. Let us know by sending a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
Is there an Ignite Apple Watch app?
At this time there isn't an Ignite app for Apple Watch. If you would be interested in using a Apple Watch app equivalent of Ignite, we’d love to hear about it. Let us know by sending a mail to email@example.com
Can I use Ignite for tracking my cardio workouts or HIIT?
Ignite is aimed purely at tracking your fitness and weightlifting efforts which means we don’t track running andbiking etc.. However, we do support time based (interval) workouts. Perfect for when you prefer focussing on time under pressure rather than reps. Ignite has a lot of great workouts that come with the app. For example, there is a 7 Minute HIIT workout available.
Does Ignite come with any pre-made workouts?
Heck yes! Ignite is here to help you achieve your fitness and bodybuilding goals, whether you’re a gym addict or just starting out. That’s why we’ve included over 10 predefined workouts to get you started.
Does Ignite tell me how to perform an exercise?
Ignite does currently not have a 'how-to' section for each exercise. The reason for this is that Ignite is a workout tracker and we want to focus on you creating your routines & workouts to subsequently log your results. For detailed exercise instructions please contact certified staff at your gym.
Does Ignite support dropsets, pyramid sets, subsets and supersets?
At this moment Ignite does not support these advanced type of sets. It is definitely on our radar though. We would to hear from you if you’re interested in such a feature. If there’s popular demand.
Does Ignite app allow me to log my lifted weight in both LBS and KG?
Yep, Ignite allows you to toggle between the Imperial System of Measurements (using LBS) and Metric System of Measurement (using KG’s). You can choose either one. However, there is no option to use both measurement systems for just one workout, exercise or set. Changes to the measurement system are applied system wide.
Using the app
How do I set a resting timer in between exercise sets?
As soon as you have added an exercise to your Workout, and the workout is in edit mode (you can do so by tapping ‘edit’ on the top right); you will be able to make changes to the Workout and the order of Exercises. To edit sets, reps and the resting timer for one Exercise, tap on the edit button for the Exercise you want to edit. This will trigger a slide up sheet.
At the top of the slide up sheet, there is a button that says either ’set’ (in case you haven’t set a resting timer) or ‘edit’ (if you have already set a resting timer). Tap this button to set ,or make changes to, the resting timer. Ignite lets you set a resting timer with an interval of 15 seconds. The maximum time you can set is 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Tap on the ‘done’ button at the top to apply the changes to the resting timer. If the resting timer is set to 0 and you tap ‘done’ at the top, no resting timer will be set.
How do I delete, add and edit sets (and or reps) to an Exercise?
First add an exercise to your workout, and make sure the Workout is in edit mode (you can do so by tapping ‘edit’ on the top right). To edit sets and reps for one exercise, tap on the edit button for the exercise you want to edit. This will trigger a slide up sheet. To add a set, tap the ‘Add Set’. To remove a set tap on the red remove button on the right of the set you like to remove. To increase or decrease the amount of reps, tap the + plus button or the - minus button. By hold-and-draggin the handle on the right of a set you can re-order it.
Can I change the body illustrations?
We’ve added the option to view muscles and muscle groups distributed on the female body anatomy. You can change gender settings under ’settings’ > ‘gender'. By default the male body anatomy illustration is displayed.
How do I mark a workout or exercises as favorite?
Every lifter has his or her own favorite workouts and exercises. If you go to workouts or exercises and navigate to one single workout or exercise you can mark it as ‘favorite’ by tapping on the button at the top the white card..
How do I change the order of workouts?
On the top right of the Start screen, tap ‘edit’. This will turn the Start screen into edit mode. All of the workouts you have selected to perform will line up underneath each other. Tap, hold and drag the right side of a workout to change the order of the workouts.
I can’t seem to save a new workout, why is that?
A workout requires a title, a description and at least one exercises. While creating a workout, meeting these requirements will allow you to save the workout by tapping on ‘save’ on the top right of the screen.
I'm having trouble creating a new exercise, how come?
To be able to quickly look up any newly created exercise, you're required to at least enter a name for your exercise, choose a main muscle, choose one or more 'other muscles' and choose an equipment type. Adding the 'mechanics type' and 'force' is optional and are not required in order to create your new exercise.
How can I duplicate an existing workout?
You might find yourself in the situation where you like a lot about a workout that ships with the app. However, these type of workouts can not be edited and show a lock icon in the top right of the single workout screens. If you want to make edits to one of these types of workouts, you can use it as a template. To do so, go to ‘workouts' and tap ‘create’ in the top right corner. Now choose ‘Use existing workout as template’ and choose the workout you initially wanted to edit. Ignite will create a duplicate of that specific workout, which is now editable.
Why can’t some workouts be edited?
Ignite lets you to create your own workouts yet also ships with a lot of great workouts. All workouts that ship with the app can not be edited and show a lock icon in the top right of the single workout screens. If you want to make edits to one of these types of workouts, you can use it as a template. To do so, go to ‘workouts' and tap ‘create’ in the top right corner. Now choose ‘Use existing workout as template’ and choose the workout you initially wanted to edit. Ignite will create a duplicate of that specific workout, which is now editable.
Is there a way to reset or delete my workout history?
You can delete individual workouts from your workout history. Please note that showing and editing workouts is a premium feature. You can start viewing your workout history by purchasing the In App Purchase.
How do I restore my In App Purchases?
If you have purchased all, or any of the In App Purchases in the past, you will be able to easily restore these purchases. In case you're signed in the same App Store account you've made a purchase with before, the In App Purchase you've already purchased will show a 'restore' button next to it.
